Beyond
Solo Exhibition
Arts & Disability Forum Gallery, Belfast
8–24 May 2007
About
Beyond was an early body of work exploring the relationship between light, structure and natural phenomena through photography, sculpture and installation. Developed through close observation and experimentation with materials such as water, gelatin, plastics and air, the exhibition investigated surface tension, membranes and fluid dynamics as metaphors for wider cosmic systems.
Presented at the Arts & Disability Forum Gallery as part of the 8th Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, the exhibition brought together photographic series and a bubble structure installation examining connections between the microscopic and the infinite. The exhibition marked an important stage in the development of my practice, introducing ideas that continue to inform my research into environmental processes, perception and material transformation.

Looking Back
Looking back, Beyond introduced many of the themes that continue to shape my practice, particularly an interest in interconnected systems, material transformation and environmental processes.
